Guidelines

The Pierre and Tana Matisse Foundation awards program-specific grants to nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations serving the five boroughs of New York City. While the Foundation recognizes the importance of lifelong learning in the arts for all ages, priority is given to programs serving young people under age 18 and/or in grades PreK-12. Please note that the Foundation does not fund individuals, nor does it fund an organization’s operating expenses.

Arts and Arts Education Grants

The 2025 General Grant Cycle for the Arts and Arts Education Grants will be open from Monday, November 18 to Friday, December 20, 2024, 11:59pm EST. New organizations wishing to apply can submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) through the Foundation’s online portal, accessible here during the submission period.  Tips to completing the LOI can be accessed here.

As LOIs are received, Foundation staff may reach out to request additional information. After the deadline, all submissions will be reviewed, and a selection of new applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal in early spring 2025.

Please note that submissions received outside of this process will not be considered.

If you have any questions, please contact Lisa Gutting, Senior Arts Education Program Officer, at lgutting@pmgmf.org
